Big Girl Bed

I am committed to potty training Gemma. Unfortunately she is totally against this. But alas I continue to make "preparations". I read a book the other day and it suggested that you move your child out of the crib so that if they need to go potty in the night, they can. So of course I ran right out and got a toddler bed. I'm sure this sounds terrible but I'm sooooo over having a baby. I'm ready for big girls. Gem was super excited as the bed has Dora on it. She had a hard time getting to sleep last night with her new found freedom. Maya was less than pleased with her constant getting out of bed.

This is what I found this afternoon during her naptime. Yes I sat there on her floor watching her slowly fall out of bed so I could get a good picture. Is that wrong?

And of course this posting would not be complete without Maya's reinactment of events.

Jumping Doha Style

My friend does a spot on her blog called Doha Days. It is basically the frusterating/funny/crazy incidents that happend to her here. This would definately be classified as a Doha Day incident. My neighbor went in to buy a trampoline for his 2 year old daughter. He picked out a small one and brought it home. As any good Daddy would, he immediately began to put it together. Unfortunately the store had given him the full size trampoline. By his estimations this one is 4 times larger than the one he wanted. Now he is stuck with this giant trampoline. It is in the road out front. We don't have any yards to speak of here. It takes up almost an entire lane. The best part? They let all of the neighbor kids jump on it whenever they want (including us, yeah!). Everyday after school it is full of screaming laughing jumping kids. I wonder how long it will take them to get tired of all the kids and get rid of it.....
